Is it a really a ghost?

so i was in my grandmas suitcase looking for her cigarets and i found this old picture of a bunch of people in white cloaks with pointed hats and torches and my grandma said she was under one of the masks, and i asked my dad what they were and he said they were ghosts and was he serious? ar ghost for real?
